Our Bulldogs finished strong, showing compassion throughout the month of January. February’s character word is TRUSTWORTHY. Being trustworthy means doing the right thing, even when no one is watching. It means telling the truth even when it is not easy, keeping our promises, and being someone others can count on.

Safety superheroes in action! 🦸♂️🦸♀️❄️ We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to our outstanding maintenance and custodial team, along with our fabulous Superintendent, for ensuring our sidewalks and campus areas were free of ice. Your proactive efforts helped keep our students and staff safe and showed, once again, how much you care about our school community. Student Drop Off will start at 9:15 A.M. Normal Morning Procedures will be followed and breakfast will be served as well.
Buses will pick up 2 hours later than normal pick up times. Class Bell will ring at 9:40 A.M. Tardy Bell will ring at 9:45 A.M

The music students of McDade hit the stage in Bastrop on Friday for the All Region Band concerts! We had 5 students representing our tiny school, with a few in every ensemble!

Lily Hobbs & Ian Johnson
(these two were also McDade’s first Jr. High All Region Band Students when they were in 8th grade)

Good Morning McDade Guardians and Community,
After hearing the county reports and talking to other areas Superintendents, all Bastrop area districts are going to move forward with closure for Monday, January 26, 2026. We have frozen roads across our district and in neighboring districts and believe that our buses and staff will not be safe on the roads. Temperatures will not rise high enough to melt the ice. We will continue to monitor with Bastrop County Office of Emergency Management.
